i shall henceforth not apologize for the quality of photos on my blog any more.
let me say once and for all: if you click on any image for a closer look, you do so at your own peril.
here is a before picture. these last few days have been devoid of any transcribing work for me, leading me to focus my energies [so long as they're not being economized, see last post] on the inside of the house and the garden. garden pictures will follow soon. i shall henceforth also not say 'yard' anymore since it's so american and commoner-speak. i am feeling fancy. a garden it is, and more than a yard from the time it takes me to mow the lawn, so garden it shall be called. no, better. 'the gardens'. stop the veering right here, back to the topic. although i can change the topic at any time since i am my own boss here, you do realize that?
i have finally figured out what makes it hard to get a cozy feeling into a room. 'tis when said room has no corner. when each corner is taken up by doors, so that no corner can be occupied by a sitting area since doors need space to be opened.
asinine planning. let me talk to the architect, please.
speaking of architect, please take an hour to meditate over this house beauty here.
so, although i am all about white wall space or maybe exactly because of that, i have decided to camouflage the doors with golden handles [shake it off, wimp.] by turning them into part of a picture wall, thus also finally giving my ocean painting collection, in its current form, a place to live.
it's not so much that i am generally against hanging an ocean horizontally, i just like to show who's boss on the wall by subjecting gravity to the space available. fachoo.
and before i leave to sew a zipper on my brother's jacket, a little decorating tip:
a pineapple spreads tropical vibes in a kitchen. let me tell you.
but the pineapple can't cost more than $3.98.
and i came up with all this all alone since my assistants were indispensable elsewhere.
