several things.
for one, i have a blister from doing yardwork. actually, a blister. actually actually, one and a half. i don't think that's happened before, and i have done some good share of yardwork. gone are the days when i'd willfully toss out a flower, pretending it might have been weed, so i wouldn't have to water it come summer.
i have evolved.
so has my mac. visible to the naked human eye, it has grown a new keyboard. thank you, thomas. i am so determined not to spill coffee over this one, i have the coffee cup sitting on a chair next to my chair. and the water on the table an arm's length away.
although, in my defense, the last keyboard lasted five years.
what i wanted to do here was type down a plan for the evening so i don't waste it surfing online. i was going to give myself a little time not wasted surfing online, and then start to put together a yoga class. a few minutes ago, i stared at this tab seemingly unable to remember what i wanted to type and moved on to the next tab.
and now i came back to me. chop chop, finish the coffee and get to work.
'tis all easier with coffee.
except for falling asleep when you overdo it.
yes, i remember! this new white keyboard, was the leading thought, makes me conscious of washing my hands before i get to the computer. i wash my hands plenty [thanks mama] but not too much [thanks me] but these here, viginially transparent and white, remind me of the following thighslapper from my early days.
"fritz, did you wash your hands before practicing playing the piano?"
"i don't have to, mom, i'm only using the black keys today."
so no more that excuse for me.
what i could also do tonight is darn. i have an actual darning basket, mending basket? is there anyone who is the english language mighty [a little german grammar humor], knows of such archaic things and could provide me with a little guidance here?
on to more fundamental things.
i am german.
i like things to feel orderly.
today is a day when everything feels orderly.
this makes my little german heart very happy.
things feel orderly when the kitchen is cleaned and dishes done right after dinner. the table is clean. i don't wipe it after every meal [don't people come to this blog such martha stewardy information? no?], i'd like to add, lest i leave an anal impression with anyone.
in the most... PG-way, i mean this.
circumstances that contributed to this day becoming an orderly day:
after getting up, before leaving the house, i took the sheets off and washed them. this happens on mondays. i am german.
i went to see my friend, got some tb substance, presumably, shot under my skin for the yearly test, and then went grocery shopping. i entered the grocery store a little after 9:58 a.m. and was through the register at 10:36. i know this because i checked the time to figure if i had time to return the jumbo avocado, at $2.28 apiece, since i had only wanted to get a regular one for $1.78. even this price, i debated half a minute if i'd spend that much.
fist rule [and more german linguistic humor]: a buck for an avocado, or christine spends the week avocado-free.
i digress.
i had time.
returned a jumbo a in exchange for 228 cents [thankfully not in 228 cent coins for my brother doesn't work there, but another story for another time that is..] and drove home.
i brought in the groceries, made lunch for hubby, had lunch with him, made him coffee, and had lunch whence he drove off to school.
then i did yardwork. i chopped and dug and watered and hopped into the green trash can to compress. fashionably outfitted in slimegreen rubber boots, a crocodile dundee hat and pigtails. then i pulled the trash can to the street since it'll be emptied tomorrow morning.
that is orderly. i fill it the day before it will be collected.
that was no coincidence, people.
i plan things like this.
then i came inside.
i made dinner.
i showered.
i dined with hubby, i made him coffee [which i am finishing now], i brought the remaining two trash cans to the street as he left, came inside and cleaned the kitchen.
time to get a little productive here.

Die Haare sind (noch?) dran und ich habe mich dann doch für den 'zuverlässigen' Tatort entschieden, denn der ist ja eigentlich immerganz gut! :)
